Originally from Massachusetts, Apolonia Panagopoulos now lives in Los Angeles, California where she works as a freelance editor and cinematographer for narrative, documentary and experimental films.
In April 2007, Panagopoulos completed Parity, her first feature, which she directed, photographed, and edited, as well as co-wrote with J.R. Hughto.
Panagopoulos makes experimental narratives on 16mm film, video, and super 8, and HDV.
Her films have screened at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; at the ZeitgeistGallery in Cambridge, MA; at REDCAT at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, Los Angeles; and at the 2006 Ojai Film Festival.
In May 2007 she was awarded a Master of Fine Arts degree in film and video at the California Institute of the Arts. Before moving to California in 2004, she graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in affiliation with the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
